Meet Our Teachers
Hello! My name is Sonya Applegate, and I’m proud to be part of the team at Woodglen Elementary. I earned my undergraduate degree from Concordia College in Minnesota and my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. I have six years of experience teaching third grade, and I absolutely love this age group! One of my favorite parts of teaching is building strong connections with my students and watching them grow academically and personally throughout the year. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my dogs, traveling, reading, and exploring the outdoors. I’m so excited to welcome you to our classroom! It’s going to be a fantastic year of learning and growing together!

Hello! My name is Katherine Huntington, and I am thrilled to be teaching 3rd grade this year! This is my first year in the classroom, and I couldn’t be more excited to start my teaching journey. I have a Master’s degree in Teaching Elementary Education and have a passion for helping students learn and grow. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, walking my family dog, and cooking. I feel so lucky to be part of such an amazing school community and am looking forward to building meaningful relationships with my students. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and inspiring learning environment where every child feels valued and empowered.
