A Note From The Principal

Dear Families of Woodglen Elementary,

It continues to be my pleasure to have the opportunity to serve the Woodglen community.  We wrapped up the month of October with several celebrations and I am looking forward to sharing more celebrations over the next few months with you.

Our annual Trunk or Treat event, Halloween parade and parties were a true hit!  The students all enjoyed themselves and were very proud of their costumes.  We truly appreciate all of the candy donations you made to help make the Trunk or Treat event possible.  Our PTO board, volunteers from Mountain Range High School, families who decorated elaborate trunks, and staff who dedicated their time to support the event are to be commended for an amazing evening.  Thank you to all of the families who sent in food and helped our classroom teachers start the morning with an enjoyable party.

After the parade was finished, we had the opportunity to recognize all of our students who worked incredibly hard to help raise funds for our school at an assembly.  The students took pride in receiving their special edition Wildcat t-shirts and smashing pies in the faces of various staff members.  A highlight for me was having the opportunity to eat lunch with the students who earned lunch with me.   We are truly grateful for all of the support our school receives from the community that makes these events possible.

As we head into November, I would encourage all of us to reflect on the people around us who make a difference in our lives and what we are thankful for each and every day.  This often is lost in the many activities we try to balance in our lives.

As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Matt Haviland
